Sounds funny I know. Dried fruit nuts in a cotton sack to clean your clothes and diapers? Truth is not everybody would jump on this bandwagon when they see it BUT I'm just the person for it. Of all the things I try and do to be green and save the planet this had my name all over it! Here is what sounded so good to me about these little things:
- They are mild enough for clothes and cloth diapers
- Eco Nuts are gentle on both clothes and skin, making them ideal for those with sensitive skin, eczema, allergies and psoriasis. (Our family is very sensitive!)
- Eco Nuts are wild-harvested, meaning they are gathered from wild trees grown without any kind of chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides.(Now days this is hard to find even for food!)
Sound amazing right? Now all we need is for it to actually work right! Guess what, they work just as amazing as they sounded! I love them! I used them with kids clothes, husbands work clothes, my clothes, towels, sheets and cloth diapers! Everything came out so fresh and clean. I couldnt understand how these work so well when there isnt any bubbles or sents! Then I went back to the website and read the first paragraph on the link I gave above.
"Eco Nuts Soap Nuts are a berry that grows in the Himalayas that naturally produces a soap. The soap is called saponin, a natural cleaner that works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric and leaving dirt suspended in the water that is rinsed away."In other words they lift the dirt right out of your fabric and leave it in the water to be washed away. No foam is good meaning there is no foaming agent to make you "think" its working hard it just is naturally!
Ive tried alot of detergents including most at stores from Tide, All, Purex, Brand names all the way to homemade! They all failed in one way or another. Either smell, price, chemicals, additives bothering our skin, or with the "green" factor. I wanted something so pure and natural for our laundry and mostly our skin that is green and easy to use. Of course I didnt want to pay an arm and leg either.
Thats the great thing about these. You just stick 4-5 nuts in the bag they provide and toss it in. These things last for about 10 loads or until they start to disintegrate. Then you can throw them into your compost or add new to them! How perfect is that? I'm so in love with these things. I bet you want to try some now too! Here is your chance to win a trial size box good for 10 loads!
You have until Sunday July 15th, 12:01am to enter. A winner will be picked and posted on this blog post and emailed! Winner must contact me within 48 hours or a new winner will be choosen. Good luck!

I have used a generic free and clear detergent for clothes and rockin green for diapers! I have heard great things about econuts but have not had a chance to try them!
ReplyDeleteI actually use econuts and LOVE them! I'm trying to convince my mother that they actually work though, so i'd give this trial box to her if I won. They really are great!
ReplyDeletei have been using home made detergent...i like it because i know what's in it..the only thing keeping me from using soap nuts is i don't know how hand washing friendly they are
ReplyDeleteWe use econuts and a store brand detergent.
ReplyDeleteI've been using Tide Cold Water for my clothes and a little trial of Eco Sprout for my baby.
ReplyDeleteI have been using EcoNuts for about 8 months now and I will never go back to detergent!
ReplyDeleteI've used soap nuts on my grandson's diapers. I've used a different brand, and would love to see if there is a difference
ReplyDeleteWe use Charlie's soap because it's convenient. Haven't yet tried eco nuts because I just haven't ordered any as of yet.

Tide is what I have used for as long as I can remember. I haven't tried Eco Nuts yet because I am not sue what my husband will say. He has sensitive skin and has noticed when I haved tried other detergents in the past. But he is fine with Tide, so that is why I stick with it.
ReplyDeleteI use soap nuts and I really love them. I occasionally use Rockin' Green, as well.
ReplyDeleteI use Ecos right now, but would love to try Eco Nuts. Earth Fare just opened in the area, so now I can buy Eco Nuts when I buy groceries.
ReplyDeleteI been using Tide but would love to try this detergent.
ReplyDeleteI've been using Charlie's and Tide for my cloth diapers, but the main reason I haven't used soap nuts is that I've never been able to talk to anyone else who uses them to ask all my questions!
ReplyDeleteI have been using ECOS and it WAS working ok but now my diapers are starting to get a little stinky. I have just recently heard about Eco Nuts and would love to try them!
ReplyDeleteI use a mixture of Planet for regular laundry and have been switching from that to Nellie's to regular Tide unscented for my cloth diapers and am still having issues. Would live to give these a shot. Thanks! Blondredhead at Mac dot com
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to try Econuts for the longest time, but I just never got around to it. Would love to win these!
ReplyDeleteI make my own laundry detergent now. I've just recently learned about Eco Nuts, and they sound awesome. I'm just saving up money, so I haven't been able to try them yet.
ReplyDeleteI have been using econuts or ecos.
ReplyDeleteI use bum genius this is my first cloth diaper detergent . I bought it not knowing of other brands so that's why I did not buy Eco nuts . But have heard many good things about them
ReplyDeleteI use Eco Nuts for my cloth diapers!!! Love them! I just can't believe that they work so well. :)
ReplyDeleteI use Rockin Green, EcoSprout and Nellies. I've been wanting to try EcoN Nuts though! We sort of stock piled the other detergents so that's why I haven't tried it yet lol

I use tide because it makes my clothes smell fresh, but I hate the chemicals. I haven't tried soap nuts yet because I wonder how well natural soap can combat my household's smelliness! I plan on buying a sample of it very soon to test it out.
ReplyDeleteHaven't started cloth diapering yet (building my stash while we wait to adopt a newborn), but have switched to more eco-friendly products. Would love to try EcoNuts!
ReplyDeleteI use rockin green classic, haven't bought any eco nuts because I'm still one my first bag.
ReplyDeleteI use Target pure and free on clothes and Rockin' Green on diapers. I just heard about soapnuts fairly recently and am excited to try!!!
ReplyDeleteI use ecos in the past but I've had to do extra rinses to get the soap out of towels and such. With Econuts I don't have to do that. It has by far gotten my dirty towels the cleanest of anything I've used in the past.
ReplyDeleteI've been using Ecos for clothes and Planet Ultra for cloth diapers. Love both of them, but would love some Eco Nuts.
ReplyDeleteI use All Free and Clear and sometimes Tide. The only thing keeping me from buying EcoNuts is laziness, and picking it up while I am in the store isn't possible. :-P And, the last couple times when I think I will switch to something else I find the detergent on sale and with a coupon... so... I buy more. (Oops!) :-P
ReplyDeleteI am currently using "seventh generation" for my regular wash and "rockin green" for my cloth dipes
ReplyDeletenever heard of your product.
I just started cloth diapering. I looked online for the cheapest solution before I got really invested in this. I haven't finished using the Purex free and clear I bought. I really didn't like it much until I started mixing it with some castille soap and a drop of tea tree oil. This is the main reason I haven't used anything else yet.
ReplyDeleteOK. I am always looking for ways to do better and more then that, I am always looking for ways that are easy for those that are hard to convince. I love to give the things I find as gifts to family and friends on their birthday or special occasion. I found that they are always more likely to give it a shot this way. I have never heard of these and would love to try them.
